Felipe Garcia-Huidobro was born in Santiago de Chile in 1975.He received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the Universidad Finis Terrae, and his Master of Arts degree from Universidad Politecnica de Catalunya. He lives and works between Santiago, Chile and Pittsburgh, PA.
With interdisciplinary approaches to the creation of works, Felipe has experimented with different traditional techniques, such as drawing, photography, music, collage, painting and carpentry, and is now integrating digital technologies, such as video and audio recording and postproduction.

You have to be a little destructive to get really creative.Destruction, and the subsequent transformation of materials, is at the heart of this show.Tearing apart layers of collective consciousness - ad posters, film strips, maps – Felipe Garcia-Huidobro is reconstructing a personal geography through collage, sculpture, and video.
HUELLA PUBLICA
La investigación busca generar un lenguaje con este material, trabajando por una parte en la deconstrucción del afiche a través de la INTERVENCIÓN artesanal del papel y por otra en la reconstrucción de la memoria a partir del REGISTRO audiovisual de las diferentes capas.
Huella Pública amplia el campo del collage como problema sobreposición llevándolo al espacio de exposición como un fragmento REEDITADO de ciudad contemporánea.
De esta manera a modo de ARQUEOLOGÍA URBANA el proyecto indaga en las redes de información, rearticula el papel a través de su cromatismo, la palabra escrita a través del texto sonoro y la temporalidad a través de secuencias de video.
